Fathers all, veterans some

I asked in FAQ if I would afront anyones sensibilities by speaking on an issue of considerable importance to me. Lacking a response I refrained from broaching the topic... until now.
Subsequent to a recent article in the Stars and Stripes discussing this (a topic I am moderately active about), I'm confident I can now broach it here > fully in context < (if the Stars and Stripes deems it appropriate, I suppose it fits here) with veterans concerns: http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=61443&archive=tru...
Guys, I promise you this is far from a singularity and certainly not an isolated case. For further information on the scope of the paradigm that enabled this to happen please read: http://glennsacks.com/blog/?p=2083#comments (and please, if you know of similar events, do speak of it there?).
How might it apply to us? How many of you have brothers, sons, and grandsons. With a minimal amount of research into the totality of the paradigm you'll find it manifests itself in virtually every facet of life in our society.
Speaking strictly of my own experience... let me simply say my children are alive, however I do not expect to see them until the youngest has turned 18.
