Hi Everyone,
I've been looking for places to get in touch with veterans and soldiers in order to pay my respects and honour for Remembrance/Veterans Day. Last year I was fed up with all the easy-peace rhetoric here in Canada and wanted to write a song that gave full force and honour to soldier's and their sacrifice. The song is called "Labour of Love" and it's track 7 on my new album- Essays and Ear Candy.
I'm also making the song available as a free download for one week. It would be my greatest delight if you would download the song and send it to your fellow veterans and soldiers. Here's the url: http://www.bishopandmulholland.com/drupal/mp3s/07Labour_Of_Love.mp3
Here's the lyrics:
Paint his courage black
Don’t paint it white; it ain’t that nice
Paint his courage red
For the dead that lie by his side
He charges up the hill
With a weapon and a will
And as you march for peace
He’s crawling on his knees
Through the blood of a brother that fell
Cuz someone’s got to pay a price
So that you can sleep at night
He’s got a picture of his kids taped to his lid
It reminds him of why he fights
It’s a labour of love
To those of you here who've fought for the good of country and countrymen- thank you so much. And I"m sorry for all those (especially my peers) who do not honour you in the way we should.
