Looking for information on my father

I am looking for information on my father, James "Larry" Gilbert. I have little information about him other than that he was is in the Army in Vietnam, born in Tennessee, but lived in California. I was born in 1973 and I know he served several years before that.

He was caucasian, 6'5" and thin, from the pictures that I have seen of him. He was born somewhere between 1944-1948.

He has a daughter, Nicole, now 35 and a son, Marty, now approximately 40. His mother's name was Pearl Grumbling. I know of a brother, Tom and a sister, but her name is unknown.

If anyone has any information on him, even if it's just stories from Vietnam, I would appreciate anything. I don't know much about him.
