RAF Molesworth?

Anyone here ever been there? I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be working at the JAC...I understand it's a very small base, population...can anybody give me any clues on what it's like there?

Sorry Pilgram No Molesworth

Of all the places i've been , thats one place i did not make it to. What did you doat Langley ??
SSGT65 USAF

I currently am doing

I currently am doing intelligence (1N471), and I have been here for 4 years, and worked my way up to NCOIC of SIGINT Operations. Just got the RIP for my assignment about 2 weeks ago, and have to reenlist early to get the retainability. I also did the "extended long" on my dream sheet, so I think that was probably a big plus in me getting the assignment. Also, I believe that they have somewhat of a hand in standing up AFRICOM, so that may be an additional factor (I know that they do a lot of NATO work, as well), since there's a big "push" for that now. I've also worked with SF (Special Forces, not Security Forces), and done Force Protection, STW, ITW, DTW, TIBS, TRE, TRAP, Coastline, Messiah, RIM, Tech Reporting, etc.

??CARS??

Is the Contingency Airborne Reconnaissance System (10TH Intel Squad) still at Langley.. ?? I have not been over there since i PCSed in 96.

SSGT65 USAF

Yes, but sometime since

Yes, but sometime since then, the 10th has split off into the 10th and the 30th (which was actually, technically "re-activated"). The 30th does the actual ops now, and the 10th is support, like computer support, MX, getting accounts up and running (esp. NSAnet accounts). It's not known as CARS anymore, just strictly the DCGS, since we don't deploy the "vans" anymore. It's all "reachback" ops now, although we have many ppl in the squadron that deploy in support roles, like to the CAOC, or with WIT teams. The 10th now is pretty much comprised of 3C's and stuff like that. I'm the POC for the 30th as far as NSAnet accounts in addition to everything else I do, and work with several ppl from the 10th, but they're so undermanned at this point that just getting an NSAnet account can take months. It's ridiculous, especially given the 30th's opstempo, because a lot of ppl working on missions HAVE to have an NSAnet account to pass info, like, right away, and the 10th has so few people working on it (we have about 140 ppl waiting on the accounts) that it's absurd, the wait-time. The wing (480IW) is trying to help out by hiring civvies, but that hasn't been working out too good so far.
