Freedom isn't free. Freedom isn't free. Many gave and died so we'd be free. Oh remember them, those who sacrificed. They fought for freedom. We must remember them.

They left their hometowns and families at the calling not knowing what would lie ahead. Many so young they looked like children. They soon became men and women instead.

They saw friends and comrades fall in battle, the horror of it all was hard to take. They prayed and hoped that God would spare them as they persevered for their fallen brothers' sake.

Many came home welcomed heroes, while others were spat on, can you believe? How can we not love our brother and sister who gave it all so we could be free?

Many died far away from their homeland. They gave the ultimate sacrifice. For some there's no marker or headstone only loss to families and friends who know the price.

Oh remember them. Yes remember them. The freedom that we have isn't free. Freedom isn't free. Freedom isn't free. I won’t forget that they sacrificed for me.
